In this article, I will discuss the history of this popular candy, how it is made, and some of my personal favorites (and not so favorites). If you would like to make a chocolate “dough”, simply mix the chocolate and agar powder together to create a sticky, gooey and delicious base.
You can also make “flower” cookies similar to what you’ll find in a health food store. The secret is in the “flaxseed” in the mixture. Many of these contain more than one tablespoon of this super food, which makes them incredibly rich and tasty. I have also made vegan “date cakes” that were absolutely delicious! All that needs to be done is to coat the base with some agar powder, spread a little cocoa butter over it, and bake it!
I have even found products online that combine both agar powder and coconut oil, creating a delicious and nutritious breakfast treat! My favorite product by far is called hemp seed coffee. I love it for its amazing health benefits, but also for its wonderful taste! You can actually buy pre-made mixes that come in different flavors, but if you want to make your own, I suggest using the combination of coconut oil and agar powder. You will have to experiment a bit to find the perfect combination, but I promise it will be worth the extra effort!
